This is part 2 of Advanced pre-entry ESOL. This course will be held at Foleshill Women’s Training in Coventry. You will have ideally completed part 1 of Advanced Pre-entry ESOL. This course is suitable for anyone who has a good base level of English and is looking to develop further. This can be great if you are looking to get into work or just want to improve your confidence in English. Our expert tutors will help you improve your skills and work towards your personal goals. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and is run by the WEA.

Having a child or loved one receive an autism diagnosis can be worrying and unsettling. It’s difficult to know how best to support autistic children’s needs without external guidance. This autism course can teach you how to offer support to help autistic young people live healthy and fulfilling lives. This taster course is ideal for you if you have regular contact with autistic children or teenagers. It is aimed at parents, family members, community workers, or volunteers who interact closely with autistic kids. It can be useful both if you are going through diagnosis, and also if you feel you need extra resources to help support a developing autistic child.

On this course you will be invited to think about the implications and affects that stress can have on both mental and physical health. Stress can lead to serious health problems if not recognised and dealt with in time. This course will offer you the opportunity to become more aware of what causes stress, the different types of stress and how to recognise the signs and symptoms associated with each type. This course is for carers, those who have cared, and the cared for. In a bit of a rut with lunch ideas? Cook along with me, in real time, to make delicious lunches. We will use seasonal ingredients as far as possible (nothing too expensive), making healthy savoury and sweet dishes. The recipes will be on Canvas in advance so that you can go shopping, and will have alternative ingredients to suit your dietary requirements where practical. You are welcome to ask plenty of questions as we go along, and there will be time for you to socialise within the session. Come along to these relaxed sessions, meet other Carers and end up with a nice lunch, what more could you want!

This is a preparation course for the ESOL entry 2 Speaking and Listening qualification. Entry 2 ESOL courses are right for you if you have basic speaking and listening skills in English. This is not an accredited course.

Do you want to improve your reading? Come and join Improving my reading with Quick Reads. Classes are held in a friendly and supportive venue in partnership with Deeplish Community Centre. This class is for ESOL learners who are currently at Entry 2 and you will need to complete a skills check before joining. After this course, you could move onto the Award in ESOL Skills for Life Writing Entry 2, and continue your journey in the English language.
