This course will explore the period known as The Golden Age of British Crime Fiction. We will discuss the following four novels over an eight week period: A Murder is Announced - Agatha Christie. The Crime at Black Dudley - Margery Allingham. Whose Body - Dorothy L. Sayers. The Daughter of Time - Josephine Tey. Our discussions will focus on the relationships between the authors and their crime solvers, the presentation of class and manners and the British fascination with murder which effloresces during the first 50 years of the twentieth century. Come along and enjoy lively discussions of these sometimes familiar texts.

Do you have basic hand embroidery skills, but would like more confidence to use them in the creation of your own decorative designs? On this course you will learn how to create a simple floral design using summer flowers as inspiration, learn a variety of new stitches and apply them to your design. The course is great for beginners and improvers who would like to increase their knowledge of hand embroidery and mix up basic and intermediate stitch techniques. You will have the opportunity create your own unique design and apply the embroidery stitches you will be learning during the course.

Welcome to our 21-hour, ‘Healthy Living’ course. This course is aimed at pre-entry ESOL students wishing to learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The course covers essential topics such as nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and mental well-being. Students will learn about healthy eating habits, the benefits of regular physical activity, and basic hygiene practices. Interactive activities include discussing simple cooking recipes , exercise routines, and discussions on how to manage stress and emotions. By the end of the course, students will understand the importance of healthy living and be able to make better choices for their physical and mental health.

This is part 1 of Advanced pre-entry ESOL. This course will be held at Foleshill Women’s Training in Coventry. You will have ideally completed part 1 and part 2 of Intermediate Pre-entry ESOL. This course is suitable for anyone who has a good base level of English and is looking to develop further. This can be great if you are looking to get into work or just want to improve your confidence in English. Our expert tutors will help you improve your skills and work towards your personal goals. The course will outline the very basics of what you need to know in order to set up, and start running, a successful arts and crafts business whether creating and selling unique artwork, unique home décor, or jewellery. The course covers how to identify and define your niche within the arts and crafts sector; the basics of pricing products to ensure profitability; key steps to setting up an online shop or selling at local markets; simple marketing techniques to attract customers, including using social media. This course is perfect for beginners and requires no prior business knowledge. By the end of the session, you will have a clear understanding of the first steps needed to launch their arts and crafts venture and make your creative passions profitable.

Suitable for all levels, this course empowers you to develop emotional resilience in a supportive learning environment.

This is the sixth course of six, aimed at elementary (A1/A2) level learners. This six-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English and will practice all four major skills in each session to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Although this is a low-level English course, learners should be able to recognise sounds of the English letters and read simple lines of text prior to joining so that they would not struggle. Lessons will be delivered face-to-face using a range of teacher led and freer interactive activities to build learners’ proficiency and confidence in the English language.
