This is part 1 of intermediate pre-entry ESOL. This course will be held at Foleshill Women’s Training in Coventry. You will have ideally completed part 1 and part 2 of Beginners Pre-entry ESOL. This course is suitable for anyone who has some basic English Skills and is looking to develop further. This can be great if you are looking to get into work or just want to improve your confidence in English. Our expert tutors will help you improve your skills and work towards your personal goals. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and is run by the WEA.

This is an ESOL course for adults. You will develop basic English language skills. Before you can enrol on this course, you will need to do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. This course is for people working at Pre-entry or Entry 1 level ESOL. Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course in Writing. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas. We use Canvas for homework, and also for tasks and activities in the classroom.

In this course, we will be considering the portrayal of migration, the many contexts which lead to authors writing about migration, and how other themes are bound in with this idea. This course will help you if English is not your first language and if you are struggling to understand the vocabulary needed to pass the UK Driving Theory Test. During the course, we will cover the English technical language you are likely to need. You will also learn about the language used in the Highway Code and about transport in the UK. We will also cover road signs, road markings and the rules of driving. The course will help you to feel more confident that you are ready to apply for the Theory Test.
