Craft: Handstiching For Beginners
Many people believe that they are no good at sewing and feel frustrated at not being able to repair or improve clothes to give them a longer life. This course will teach you a range of hand stitches which can be used to both repair and embellish clothes. You will be able to create a range of stitch samples and make a fabric book to keep them in. You will gain confidence in your sewing skills and use them to make items which can be given as presents. Macramé is a creative knotting technique that can be used to make a variety of items, plant hangers, wall hangings, friendship bracelets, belts, and bags. including jewellery and other decorative items. It’s a great way to relax and create beautiful art pieces for your home. Learning new skill is to support learners with their health and wellbeing. Learn a new skill which may be a route into employment / self-employment.
During this course your tutor will give you demonstration and individual attention for your guidance. In this course you will be working with a macramé cord and each learner will be able to complete a pot hanger. It can be used by you or can be gifted to the loved ones. This is a continuation of the improvers spring course, but all levels are welcome.

Personal Development: Beginners Language at Work
This course is put on in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council and the DWP. It is suitable with learners who wish to improve their English to get ready to apply for a job, who are unemployed and looking for work and who also have English as a second language. Learners with English as a second language, who are looking for work and receiving benefits and aged 19 plus are eligible. If you are in receipt of work related benefits, speak to your work coach at the Job Centre and mention JCP Wolverhampton Hub. Subject to eligibility, travel expenses can be paid.
