Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
Recognise the types of social care support available to adults and the range of jobs available in adult social care. Understand the key values and principles of adult social care. Gain awareness of diversity issues and different cultures and values you may come across.
Learn skills for social work that employers look for.
Gain communication and organisation skills for care jobs. Learn how to maintain clear, accurate and up to date records. Understand how to provide person-centred support to adults in your care.
This qualification is suitable for learners of all ages who may be entering the sector or world of work for the first time.
Your tutor will set various tasks to assess your learning. These will be used to build up your portfolio for assessment. Your tutor will support you through the learning process.
You will work towards an NCFE qualification at Level 2. This qualification is made up of units that represent small steps of learning. It can usually be completed in 6 months and provides a base for further study.
After this course, you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults).
