This course is specifically designed for individuals who are looking to build foundational mathematical skills with a focus on practical applications in the context of employment. Whether it's looking at vacancies, start and end times, pay and general information around workplace vocabulary involving numeracy. This course will help you navigate your way around numeracy for work and teach you how to calculate and understand vacancies and jobs better.
Course description
This course will work with students needing to take their first steps towards formal numeracy qualifications in order to get employment in the UK. E.g. refugees needing to upskill to UK Maths qualifications but needing support to understand the system in the UK and the basic language of Maths. This course can lead to a FS Maths qualification and it will focus on numeracy for work, especially in terms of understanding job advertisements, weekly hours, and pay. The main focus of the course will be to build your confidence around numeracy for work and help you search for jobs easier whilst understanding the details of job vacancies.
