Course overview

Every session of this course is focused on helping you with everyday and specific conversations. We'll cover topics such as appointments with an optician or dentist, asking questions at parents evening, having a job interview, opening, and dealing with a bank account, requesting a specific hairstyle from the hairdresser, and even talking about a pet to the vet! This course is for learners who have some understanding of English grammar structures but would like more time to practice, to roleplay and to learn specific vocabulary they may need in work and life. A great course to boost your confidence to communicate clearly in work and everyday life.

Course description

This course offers you a space to role play conversations and focus on conversation practice. Week by week, you will have the chance to expand your vocabulary by working on themed conversations with specific words used in a particular subject, work environment, occasion, or sphere of activity. You will also be able to practice everyday conversation with your fellow learners. Our friendly and supportive tutor will guide you through the process and answer your questions.

The course will cover the following learning outcomes:

1: Understand main points of clear, standard speech on familiar matters encountered in work, school, and leisure.

2: Identify specific details and infer meaning from context.

3: Follow details in focused conversations

4: Communicate and exchange information effectively in routine tasks and new situations

5: Take part in conversations on familiar and unfamiliar topics, expressing personal opinions and ideas.

This is a great course to boost your knowledge and to help you to communicate clearly and confidently whether you are at work or going about your everyday life and tasks. Following this course, you may wish to progress to one of our accredited ESOL courses, or another subject according to your interests and aspirations. Your tutor will be able to help you to select an appropriate course.
