SCC-ESOL Improve your Reading Skills (Pre Entry)

This course is designed for pre-entry ESOL learners to help improve their English reading skills. The course focuses on making reading enjoyable and accessible. You will read a variety of simple texts, including short stories, articles, menus, signs, and instructions. Throughout the course, you will learn new words and phrases, understand basic sentence structures, and identify main ideas in texts. Activities such as reading aloud, participating in group discussions, and completing fun exercises will help you practice and improve your reading skills. You will also learn useful reading strategies, such as skimming and scanning, to quickly find important information in a text. These skills will make it easier to read and understand different types of written materials in everyday life. The course encourages you to ask questions and share your thoughts about what you read, which helps develop your critical thinking skills.
