Polish your verbal communication skills in English. This ESOL level 2 course teaches you advanced speaking and listening skills. Learning to speak eloquently can open doors to work and study options in the UK.
This ESOL course builds on skills you learnt at level 1. Perfect your listening skills in English while practising conversation techniques.
This is an English course for adults. It is aimed at speakers of other languages. ESOL classes are divided into three areas: reading, writing, and speaking & listening.

What we’ll cover
Understand how to adapt your input to conversations and debates depending on the audience and context
Polish your listening skills in conversations and recorded audio situations
Respond to detailed questions on a range of topics and cover several points in your reply
Learn to make requests and ask for information in unfamiliar situations
Recognise which modal verb to use in responses to suggestions and criticisms.
This is an ESOL skills for life level 2 speaking and listening course. You will continue to develop your verbal communication skills.
You need some prior knowledge to take this course, that’s why you’ll do a skills check to enrol. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for you.

When you complete this module, you can continue with other ESOL skills for life level 2 courses. This is the highest level ESOL qualification we offer. There are also writing and reading courses.
There are “Get Ready” courses between each module to prepare you for the next course.
What to expect
This ESOL level 2 speaking and listening course takes around 120 hours to complete.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to take these ESOL classes. This is so you can learn English through our digital learning platform, Canvas.
