Course description
Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course in Literature for ESOL. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas. We use Canvas for homework, and also for tasks and activities in the classroom. You will need to use your phone in class to work on Canvas, and you should also bring a notebook and pen or pencil.
This is an English course for adults. You will develop your English language skills which should already be around Level 1.
There are 5 learning outcomes on this course. You will need to achieve these outcomes in order to pass the course. You are expected to attend the classes regularly and be punctual. You are expected to participate in class and complete any homework given by the tutor.
On this course you will learn to read a text and identify the literary form, and you will answer questions about the meaning of a text. You will be introduced to famous British writers and explore their roles in society.
