Course description

This course will help you if English is not your first language and if you are struggling to understand the vocabulary needed to pass the UK Driving Theory Test. During the course, we will cover the English technical language you are likely to need. You will also learn about the language used in the Highway Code and about transport in the UK. We will also cover road signs, road markings, relevant documents needed to drive in the UK and the rules of driving. The course will help you to feel more confident that you are ready to apply for the Theory Test. Before you can enrol on this course you need to attend an assessment to determine your level. Your level of English will be determined by your previous qualifications in ESOL, as well as a reading and writing assessment and an interview. A minimum of ESOL Entry Level 1 is required in reading, writing, speaking and listening to access this course. Assessment of learning will be done regularly throughout the course. Information, advice and guidance will also be given to enable further course/professional progression. 100% attendance is expected to get the maximum benefit from this course. Please note that there will be no official examinations or tests, and your official UK Driving Theory Test will not be provided in this course.
