Course description

In many parts of the UK a driving licence and access to a car can give you more options for jobs, your family’s education and many leisure activities. If English is not your first language, then this course will introduce you to some of the important skills and knowledge to improve your confidence with the English language, pass your driving theory test and gain understanding about the UK road system and rules.

We will introduce the rules and regulations of driving and the Highway Code.

You will need access to a laptop or smartphone and to the internet to access learning materials. Laptops are provided for use at the centre.

You will also need a copy of the Highway Code in booklet form (cost £10). Please bring this to the first session if possible.

You will also need to be working at a minimum of Entry 2 English to participate in this course but you do not need a certificate or qualification of any kind. We will carry out a quick informal assessment at the enrolment day (18th March) so we can make sure you are applying for the right course. This is part 1 of a longer course. Please enrolment separately for part 2 onwards.
