Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
Learn essential conversation skills and vocabulary to help you start your journey towards employment and be able to play an active part in your local community. Designed for those at beginner level. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
* Introduce yourself to your tutor and classmates, with details such as your nationality and occupation.
* Talk about things you like
* Talk about things you don’t like, such as different foods or activities.
* Listen and identify information
* Respond to basic questions.
You will have the support of a patient tutor who will guide and encourage you each step of the way. You will also be able to share your experiences with other learners and encourage each other.
Join us to gain confidence, conversational skills, and a grasp of basic grammar to aid you in everyday life. Towards the end of the course your tutor will be able to help you decide how you wish to progress, for example to an accredited and/or more advanced ESOL class.
To take part in the course you will need access to the internet, and you may be asked to take part in a pre-course assessment to ensure that the course is at the correct level for your needs.
