Course overview
Course description
This four-session short course is the perfect way to enjoy a bit of creative calm during the festive season and join an online group with varied experience of hand embroidery. Participants will be able to make a selection of hanging ornaments with a different theme and stitches to apply each week. There is the opportunity to make simple and fun fabric Christmas decorations or add lots of extra details to create pieces that you will want to hang up every year and make part of your festive traditions.
Session one – Make and embroider a Circular bauble style decoration.
Session two - Make and embroider a Star decoration.
Session three – Make and embroider a Heart decoration.
Session four – Make and embroider a Christmas pudding decoration.
The decorations will all be made from felt and generally you can choose any colours you prefer apart from the Christmas pudding where you will need brown and white felt for a traditional pudding. Materials required: For sessions 1-3 single A4 sized felt sheets for each session and for session 4 a white and a brown felt sheet, fabric scissors, circular, heart and star templates (cardboard templates or cookie cutters work well) biro, embroidery thread, needles, ribbon for hanging and a small amount of toy stuffing for filling.
Further details will be given on the course’s learning platform Canvas where you will be able to access the sessions.
