Course overview
To introduce students to drawing and painting and take them to a higher level and begin to develop their skills. This course is accessible to beginners but also provides an ideal stepping stone towards intermediate levels. With step-by-step instructions, demonstrations and handouts, students can build their skills with confidence.
Course description
From light and shade to understanding composition and colour, this course reveals the secrets of painting in acrylics. Beginning with a landscape painting, the course moves on to a portrait in monochrome and one in colour. It explains, in detail, how to create a likeness, colour mixing and how to blend shades and colours. Students experiment with abstract painting and design, and finish with a still-life project. More experienced students can concentrate on their own personal projects from the beginning and are free to choose their own subjects and to progress at their own pace.
