Course overview

Come and join an enthusiastic group of creative crafters who, along with an experienced tutor will strive to unlock their creativity in this hands-on craft course. On this course you will be guided to see your scraps differently and see the craft potential of things you would normally throw away. Whatever paper-craft you are into each session of this course aims to unleash your creativity as you repurpose materials from your stash into pockets, embellishments, handmade cards, and ephemera pieces. For this course you will need minimal supplies and a full list will be available on Canvas but to get started it would be helpful to have some of the following: Assorted paper – plain and patterned and coloured cardstock Scissors Glue sticks, wet glue, adhesive tape. Old books / magazines Buttons, ribbons beads, die cut shapes.

Course description

On this creative course we are aiming to build confidence, learn new skills and develop techniques to help you to realise your creative potential and use up more of your stash.

Join us and turn ordinary materials into extraordinary end products you can use in future craft projects. Perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, this course encourages sustainable and resourceful crafting.

Find new uses for materials from your stash, including leftover paper and card scraps, ribbons, washi tapes, napkins, stickers etc.

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions and share your own paper-craft experiences with your classmates and tutor. You will be able to share your work and view others and offer and receive feedback from both your tutor and peers. 

Throughout the duration of this creative course we will:

Develop your skills and to enhance your paper-craft projects.

Change how you view and use your scraps

Share your experience and expertise with other members of the group

Transform scraps into useful ephemera and embellishments

During each session you will have the opportunity to comment on your classmates work, and receive feedback on your own, from both your tutor and fellow learners. This sharing of what we have made can be incredibly inspiring and instil confidence in our own work and creative ability.

What financial support is available?

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.

All of our digital content, teaching and learning activities and assessments are designed to be accessible so if you need any additional support you can discuss this with the education experts during your enrolment journey and we will do all we can to make sure you have optimal access.
