Art course for LLDD Leaners from care homes and independent living
This course is delivered to a group of learners based in a local area of Leicestershire , which offers a range of activities and opportunities for LLDD learners. The sessions are delivered face-to-face in a purpose-designed space in the -organisation’s premises. (Liz Kennel PM centre ) LCIL charity
The course is delivered once a week for 2 hours. This reflection of the learners’ cognitive capacity and attention span.
There is charge for venue hire from this book by WEA
Support workers are provided by the partner-organisation.
Course description
This course is for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. The intent of the course is to ensure that learners are able to develop Artistic practices and skills which improve their physical and mental wellbeing, manual dexterity and personal effectiveness. adults with learning difficulties and disabilities who lived in supported living experienced greater isolation and struggled with independent living skills as there was limited access to support services and learning opportunities. Enabling them to acquire these manual, creative and self-reflective skills will support their personal development and give them the confidence for life and, potentially,
voluntary work.
