Art Appreciation: Art Movement

Week 2 beckons you into the whimsical and innovative realm of the memphis Group where postmodernism's eclectric fusion of colours and shapes takes centre stage. Week 3 unveils the harmonious simplicity of De Stijl, a Dutch movement that championed abstraction and geometric precision. Art Nouveau explored in Week 4 enchants with its organic motifs and intricate craftsmanship. Week 5 introduces Art Deco, where elegance and opulence merge in a symphony of geometry. Throughout this course, you will learn through group discussions and visual examinations of key examples from each art and design movement. Each week will begin with a short introductory presentation on the art and design movement we are learning about that week.
