Course overview

Develop your reading skills with this non-accredited course. This English course is for speakers of other languages and is a face-to-face class in a local centre. This ESOL Reading course helps people who want to inprove their English. It will help you strengthen your ability to read letters, leaflets and other reading matter regulary seen in everyday life. What we will cover: - Using maps, diagrams and photographs to obtain information; identify and use common sources of information; find information from a range of different texts (such as letters, emails, leaflets, tables); and read words with common spelling patterns.

Course description

This is an Entry 2 level English course for adults. You will improve your existing reading skills. It is aimed at improvers, so you need some prior knowledge.

When you complete this course, you can continue with other ESOL courses at this level. Once you finish the reading, writing, and speaking & listening courses, you can progress to entry 3 level.

There are also “Get Ready” courses for each skill to prepare you for the next course.

This ESOL reading course takes around 48 hours to complete.

Please note that you will need an internet connection to study this English course for improvers. This is so you can access our digital learning platform called Canvas.
