Course overview
Course description
The first part of the course will focus on the period from 1900 to the Attack on Pearl Harbor in Dec 1941 and will feature the Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson and will explore the reasons why America entered the First World War. The course will also look at the role of the Industrial pioneers such as Rockefeller and Henry Ford The second part of the course will feature the period in America after the war starting with looking at Joseph McCarthy and the Anti-Communist purge. Another feature is the Presidency of JF Kennedy, The Cuban Missile Crisis and his assassination in 1963 The final part of the course will focus on The Vietnam War, Martin Luther King, The Iraq War and the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.
