Course description

This online, tutor-led course is designed specifically for international social care staff who are ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students. Over a 10-week period, participants will engage in 15 hours of interactive and practical learning aimed at enhancing their English language skills across speaking, listening, writing, and reading.

The course focuses on significantly improving conversational abilities, enabling participants to communicate more effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders in a social care environment. Each session will cover essential care-specific terminology, helping students become familiar with the vocabulary and phrases commonly used in their daily work. This targeted approach ensures that the language learning is relevant and immediately applicable to their professional setting.

In addition to language skills, the course aims to boost overall confidence in using English within a social care context. Through various activities, role-playing, and real-life scenarios, participants will have the opportunity to practice and refine their skills in a supportive and structured environment.

By the end of the course, students will not only have improved their English proficiency but also gained greater confidence and competence in their roles as social care professionals. This course is an invaluable opportunity for personal and professional development, tailored to meet the unique needs of international social care staff.
