Course description
"First Steps in ESOL" offers a supportive and interactive learning environment where participants can build confidence in their English language skills. Through a combination of classroom instruction, group activities, and multimedia resources, learners will gain the foundation needed to progress to more advanced levels of English proficiency. This course is ideal for newcomers to English-speaking environments, individuals seeking to improve their basic English skills for personal or professional reasons, and anyone looking to start their journey in learning English in a structured and supportive setting.
Through interactive activities and practice, participants will improve their listening comprehension and speaking abilities, focusing on correct pronunciation and intonation. This course focuses on practical language use in real-life scenarios, such as shopping, using public transportation, asking for directions, and visiting a doctor. Learners will be introduced to essential grammar rules and sentence structures, such as forming simple sentences, using articles, prepositions, and basic verb conjugations.
The course will support adults on their journey to learn skills which help them progress either in work or life. Alongside the potential economic benefits, the course is intended to reduce loneliness and make people happier, healthier, more confident, capable and more resilient.
