Course description
This is an ESOL skills for life level 1 speaking and listening course. You will continue to develop your verbal communication skills.
We will cover:
Give presentations on set topics and use an appropriate register.
Learn to talk about possible and impossible situations with conditional tenses.
Explore ways to ask for and give advice and suggestions in everyday situations.
Understand how to explain your personal views confidently in English.
Listen to speech and respond using information about the speaker or context.
This is an ESOL skills for life level 1 speaking and listening course. You will continue to develop your verbal communication skills.
You need some prior knowledge to take this course, that’s why you’ll do a skills check to enrol. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for you.
Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking.
When you complete this module, you can continue with other ESOL skills for life level 1 courses. Once you finish the reading, writing, and speaking & listening courses, you can progress to level 2 ESOL courses.
There are also “Get Ready” courses between each module to prepare you for the next course.
What to expect
This ESOL level 1 speaking and listening course takes around 120 hours to complete.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to take these ESOL classes. This is so you can learn English through our digital learning platform, Canvas.
