Course overview

This course is an opportunity to study football and the multitude of opportunities it presents for people in terms of employment, volunteering, and personal development. It will look at why football is important to people, what makes people love it and what sometimes puts people off being involved and how learners can develop their skills, knowledge, and interest in the sport to create opportunities to work within football to the benefit of themselves and others. It will give learners an insight into the many varied levels and formats of the game, including speciality football disciplines such as different disability football and walking football.

Course description

The main aim for this course is to nurture and develop learners' interest in the sport, combine this with creating contacts and access to footballing organisations and clubs in order to give learners a platform for working and volunteering in the world of football. This will include different job roles and areas of work within football such as:

- Coaching

- Grounds keeping

- Stewarding and Other match day roles

- Media and Journalism

- Medical and Therapeutic services

This course will also allow students to look at their own relationship with football, why they are interested in it, how they can develop this interest into skills and knowledge and what they want to achieve in terms of future involvement in the sport. It will involve various teaching, learning and assessment techniques to achieve learning outcomes and create a body of work to use as evidence of learning. The course will investigate the benefits that are provided by football, for individuals in terms of physical and mental health through to communities where the football club is a community hub and provider of different services. It will generate interest in the learner for developing themselves in terms of utilising their knowledge and skills and to put these to work within a footballing environment.

Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need.
