Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.

Course description
Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course in Creative Writing. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas. We use Canvas for homework, and also for tasks and activities in the classroom. You will need to use your phone in class to work on Canvas, and you should also bring a notebook and pen or pencil.
This is an English course for adults. You will develop your English language skills which should already be around Level 1.
There are 5 learning outcomes on this course. You will need to achieve these outcomes in order to pass the course. You are expected to attend the classes regularly and be punctual. You are expected to participate in class and complete any homework given by the tutor.
On this course you will learn to:
• increase your range of vocabulary in descriptive writing
• organise information effectively with paragraphs
• use a range of linking words and phrases in writing
• write about past and present situations using appropriate tenses
• write with accurate punctuation
