Level of study
Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
This course is designed to inspire and empower photographers of all levels to discover new sources of creativity and develop their personal vision. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on shooting assignments, group discussions, and critiques, participants will explore various techniques and approaches for finding inspiration in their photography practice. Topics covered will include understanding different genres of photography, exploring diverse photographic styles and techniques, harnessing creativity through observation and experimentation, and developing a personal photographic vision. Emphasis will be placed on cultivating a deeper connection with one's surroundings, embracing curiosity, and honing the ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Participants will gain an understanding of the importance of inspiration in photography and its role in personal growth and explore different genres of photography, including landscape, portrait, street, documentary, and conceptual photography. You will also learn techniques for finding inspiration in everyday life, including observation, exploration, and mindfulness and experiment with various photographic styles, techniques, and tools to expand creative boundaries.
Participants be able to develop an understanding of composition, light, colour, and storytelling in photography and cultivate creativity and personal expression through hands-on shooting assignments and projects.
