On this friendly and supportive course our focus is on developing your garment making knowledge and techniques, rather than making a specific item or garment. We are going to cover a variety of altering techniques and recycling ideas as well to help you to use what you already have to save money and the environment. The course will give you both the confidence and the skills to calculate how to create costings and profit margins if you plan to take sewing or altering further and decide to work for yourself.

This course is for people who live in Nottingham who are beginners in learning English. It is a face-to-face course. The course will help you to start using English every day ready to apply for work in the UK. It will also improve your confidence to speak to people in English in other everyday situations, like going to the doctor, shopping, using public transport and speaking to your child’s teachers. You will start to learn some of the words and phrases needed to feel part of your community and become more independent in your life in the UK.
