Course overview
Course description
Once you have mastered Skin Care and Make Up skills, you may want to work in the beauty industry. As with any industry, there will be things you need to be aware of to protect yourself and others. On this part of the course, we will look at how to avoid risks and hazards, how to keep records of these and when to take action. You will become familiar with up-to-date legal regulations all people working in the beauty industry must adhere to and how to work in a safe and healthy way. Your tutor will guide you through risk assessment, security, official legislation, your healthy working environment, how to handle customer complaints, who and when to contact the Health and Safety Executive. We will also look at basic first aid, what you can and should do and how you can assess the situation and know when to get medical assistance. This course will prove useful for gaining employment in the industry and will also be of interest if you just want to know more about the subject. Most of these skills are transferable and will be useful in the home or another industry.
